Hernando School District

The Hernando County School District is a fully accredited public school system proudly serving students and families on Central Florida’s scenic Gulf Coast. As a cornerstone of our community, we educate and support more than 22,000 students across a diverse range of schools and programs — from early learning through high school graduation and beyond.

We are the largest employer in Hernando County, with nearly 3,000 dedicated professionals — from teachers and administrators to support staff — all focused on helping every student thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our educators and staff bring passion, expertise, and a spirit of collaboration to every classroom and campus, ensuring that students have the tools they need to succeed today and build bright futures tomorrow
